Trying to postpone or avoid the 'come-down' by continuing to use will only make things more intense and unpleasant for you when the time comes. Remember, 'what goes up must come down'. This applies regardless of how you choose to use. Remember, always wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water, before and after, you snort, smoke, chase, shaft, inject or ingest any illicit substance into your system. Whatever is on your hands and whatever your fingers touch - to make up, divide and take the drugs - will also be ingested into your system, along with whatever else anyone who's touched the implements or the gear has on their hands. There are many different ways to use that are less risky than injecting. Some of these methods have a similar effect to injecting and in fact, some last longer (eg drinking or bombing). All non-injecting methods are a lot safer and less expensive in the long run. Even if you prefer injecting there may be times when you run out of equipment and are faced with cleaning and reusing a dirty fit, or are offered a used fit to clean (especially if you're not carrying your own sterile equipment). There may be times when you aren't 100% certain that the person responsible for mixing up has washed their hands (if they've had a shot previously) or if they're using new, just out of the packet sterile injecting equipment (including water, spoon and filter). If in doubt don't inject. Use an alternative method to injecting. Your long term health is more important than just having a shot. |
