In 2004, The National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre published a report showing an increase in Crystal Methamphetamine Use. In response AIVL produced a report about Hepatitis C and users, and have used that as the basis for this website. This site has been put together with a Harm Reduction philosophy in mind. Harm Reduction is all about recognizing the reality that drugs exist and so does drug use. Harm reduction is a framework for trying to reduce the amount of harm to the individual and society that occurs from drug use.

The use of psycho-stimulants is illegal in Australia. Heavy fines and jail sentences can be imposed for manufacture, supply and possession. It is both illegal and dangerous to drive while under the influence of drugs.
